1.     Without referring to a dictionary, give your definition of a hero.

2.     Have you ever had contact with someone whom you consider a personal hero? Someone who did something for you that you regard as heroic? Could you share the details?

3.     Think about a time you’re most proud of – when you acted in a heroic way? If you’re willing, tell us about your most heroic act? What motivated your act of heroism? Do you think this action had an enduring impact on someone else’s life? What was that impact?

4. What character in history was an outstanding example of heroism?
     a. What motivated her/his heroism?
     b. What do you think was the source of her/his heroism?
     c. Just genetic? Inspired by someone in childhood? Religion? Patriotism? Love?
5. Does everyone have the power to be hero? Is a coward the opposite of a hero? 6. Can military training turn the ordinary into a hero?
